La M-PLANT est au coeur d’un projet VR « Spring Odyssey » qui lie la biologie végétale, la poésie et les nouveaux médias. La M-PLANT a été imaginée puis sélectionnée pour voyager jusqu’à la forêt rouge de Tchernobyl lors de l’expédition annuelle qui étudie l’effet de la radioactivité sur des plantes et animaux. Après 5 jours d’exposition, les feuilles des M-PLANTS ont blanchi. De retour à la serre d’Orsay, celles de la seconde génération se sont tachées. À travers cette expérience, les interrogations contemporaines refont surface : comment coexister sur une Terre abîmée ? Comment apprivoiser l’invisibilité, la nocivité et apprendre des résilients ?

The M-PLANT is at the heart of the VR project “Spring Odyssey” which links plant biology, poetry and new media. The M-PLANT was imagined and then selected to travel to the Chernobyl Red Forest during the annual expedition which studies the effect of radioactivity on plants and animals. After 5 days of exposure, the leaves of M-PLANTS have turned white. Back in the Orsay greenhouse, those of the second generation got stained. Through this experience, contemporary questions resurface: how to coexist on a damaged Earth? How to tame invisibility, harm and learn from resilients?
